    The revenue plunges are not as steep year to year as they were half a decade ago, but pretty much across the board EVERY quarter shows revenue that is X percent below the previous year's quarter. Whether it will ever "stabilize" remains to be seen, unless we just adjust our definition of "stabilize" to mean "a revenue drop of only 4 percent vs. the same quarter a year ago."

    The companies still earning profits are doing so basically because they are reducing expenses at a rate that exceeds their revenue decline. And/or because they went ahead, declared bankruptcy and had much of their billions in debt wiped out.
