WTF do the Royals need with another OF!?

Where do you see this? If so, I have no idea why. I'd take Gathright over Emil Brown anyday. Gathright needs to play a helluva lot more often... he tied St. Louis in knots on Wednesday.

Emil Brown, meanwhile, must be the smartest man in America. He plays rec-league softball defense, hits about .220, yet he manages to get semi-regular PT on a team purportedly stuffed with outfielders.

Caught it on the ticker on ESPN ... Traded for P Leo Nunez.

    Aah, never mind.

According to the KC Star, the Royals canceled the trade when they learned that Bradley has an oblique injury.

I want to make a board game joke here, but I bet that's been done before.

Why would we make a board-game reference regarding Leo Nunez?

I'll say it: I like the subject line, even if the trade's off.

So the Royals used their get out of jail free card on the trade?

Only if the Bengals could use the same thing.

So the trade was always in trouble. Mighty, mighty big risk.

Nice title, but I'm really glad the trade didn't happen. I strongly dislike Nunez, too.

Second that. Liked the gamble, had the trade gone through, so long as Gathright continued to play every day somehow. Hopefully, he gets more at-bats. He needs them.
