    A year before the city will host the equestrian event of the Beijing Olympics, 132 Hong Kong racehorses were infected with equine herpes in the territory's worst outbreak of the disease.

    Beginning in early February, horses showed symptoms of mild fever, blood problems and swelling in the legs; five of them pulled out of races Monday, Hong Kong Jockey Club spokesman Wilson Cheng said.
