Roku/Ditching cable

    Anyone ever used Roku?

I don't want to pay for a cable or satelite service because I just don't watch enough TV to justify that high a cost, when all I want is ESPN and maybe a few others.

If not Roku, then has anyone here ditched cable and still found a good alternative?

I almost went to Roku a couple of years ago but decided against it.
My circumstances are kind of different than most, though. I live in the middle of nowhere in the Sierra foothills. I don't have a landline to my property, just wifi. My data costs would've been more than my DirecTV costs.
