    Not sure about the location. It was after an IRE-sponsored seminar on investigative reporting in sports, tied to labor issues and a lockout.

    This might deserve its own thread, but it kinda ties in with this one.

    Dean Singleton is seeking to reopen labor contracts with the Post and the Denver Newspaper Agency, seeking to cut $20 million in expenses. This comes one day after Moody's said Media News faces an increased risk of defaulting on its loans

    ... hasn't persuaded local business executives to step forward in rescue bid? Stereotypical left-leaning newsies don't generate much empathy from the deep-pocketed crowd unless they can generate PROFITS!
