Robinson: Auburn player investigated for point-shaving

    In many point-shaving cases, the players don't do any of the actual betting themselves -- they just get paid money by gamblers to intentionally screw up plays in a game or series of games.

    Point shaving usually isn't when a guy throws a pass out of bounds 50 feet from the nearest receiver with 8 seconds left and a 1-point lead, it can be shuffling your feet too slow on defense for four minutes in the first half and letting your man score 8 points instead of 2.
