I had my custom stereo stolen out of my car when I was going to College and working late night in the Engineering Lab. They punched my lock and keyed my car door, so that pretty much sucked. Sorry to hear about your stereo being jacked, I hope those losers trip and fall down a well.

One night of a million I forgot to lock my car and I had $500 in CD's stolen out of it. Thank god they didn't touch the Kenwood head unit I just bought. Crazier, there was a $150 fuzz buster sitting in the glove box and they didn't even lay a finger on it. Assholes.

    Stop looking at kiddie porn.

But, cradle, if you're living at home with mom and dad in their exclusive gated community, perhaps they can help you with the deductable. ;)

The insurance paperwork should be no problem. Just call the agent, tell them you got robbed and find your receipts. I've been there. Just 7 or 8 months ago a jackhole stole a few thousan dollars worth of stuff from my garage. It sucked, so I know how awful it feels inside.

I've had my car broken into twice, both times while I was at the office downtown.

The first time they took a plastic bag with a pair of shorts in it and about $5 worth of change that was in the ashtray. Left my checkbook.

Sorry to hear it, CR. I hope you can get the stuff replaced with minimal cost and trouble, but I also know it'll take a while to get over the feeling of being violated. Hang in there.

I was in vegas on vacation once and got a call at 2 a.m. from the wife -- Call the Atlanta police about your vehicle.
So I call atlanta police, where we had parked it to fly out.
Sir, we've recovered your vehicle. Did anybody have permission to be driving it?
    Me: No.
Flew back the next day and three punks had stolen it, got in car chase with the police and wrecked it.they caught one of the kids who stole it.
I live 41/2 hours from atlanta. had to get a guy at the impound lot to show me how to start it with a screwdriver to start it but somehow managaed to drive it home. body shop guy why i even tried to drive it. Went back to atlanta for the court date -- it was a juvenile who had been caught before -- and he failed to show. Got the vehicle fixed and drove it for several more years.

    You wuz robbed.

Seriously, it sounds like someone knew that stuff was in there ahead of time, unless they were planning on breaking into every car in the neighborhood and the first one just happened to have a sweet stereo in it. Any of your friends on meth?

It wouldn't even have to be a friend, it could just be some of the neighbors' kids. I'd definitely be checking them out.
I have never actually had a car broken into, part of it is the two cars I've driven in my life had a combined 366k miles on them, though.
