Wouldn't be shocked if he got severance, in return for signing a non-disclosure and non-litigation agreement (or even just as a smooch on his way out the door from bosses who feared a lawsuit). But given the circumstances, that's way different from a buyout.

I'm not certain if he was eligible or not to be honest with you. I don't think he was offered anything that would've made him seriously think about taking a buyout earlier.
The guy says he's happy and he's ok. I pretty much have to take him on his word.

There is no better way to end the thread, than with Ace's comment. Well done.

Yes, I'm beating a dead horse.

But Rob? The quarterback you accused of beating a hockey player? Well, other than a Spartan athlete, you were a wee bit off... fucktard...

MSU suspends RB Glenn Winston over fight

By SHANNON SHELTON • FREE PRESS SPORTS WRITER • March 11, 2009

EAST LANSING -- Michigan State freshman running back/kick returner Glenn Winston has been suspended indefinitely from the team after pleading guilty to two misdemeanor charges from his involvement in a fight Oct. 19.

Winston pleaded guilty in East Lansing's 54B District Court to one count of aggravated assault and one count of assault and battery for his role in a fight that involved MSU football and hockey players. Hockey player A.J. Sturges received a head injury during the altercation and was forced to miss the 2008-09 season.

Winston is scheduled to be sentenced April 29.

Never let the facts get in the way of a good story, as they say.

Slappy, a person on an internet message board who thinks he knows everything about Michigan, has an issue with Rob Parker, a former Detroit News columnist. Rob is no longer writing and it's a cheap shot to blast a guy who is not in the business. It's a shame that Rob is still on Slappy's mind. Perhaps a session with Dr. Phil or Dr. Ruth could help.
    Just thinkin....
