RIP Wayne Barrett

    It's been a rough couple of weeks for Village Voice alum. First, Nat Hentoff, now Wayne Barrett, longtime chronicler of NYC politics.

    He didn't die doing what he loved but at least he got an ironic chuckle or two out of it. After never smoking, he passes away from lung cancer.

    No one cares.

    RIP Wayne Barrett

    It's sad too. Barrett had the career most here dream off, and they don't even know who he was.

    Sigh... And a few of us here are too dense to check if they're double-posting.

    Still, he deserves more than one....
