Vanity, a protege of Prince who briefly achieved stardom as the lead singer of the all-female group Vanity-6, died Monday in a California hospital, the gossip site TMZ reported. She'd been diagnosed with sclerosing encapsulating peritonitis -- an inflammation of the small intestines.
    She was 57.

This for some reason makes me imagine Appolonia's obit.

"Ms. Kortero's ashes were spread in what was mistakenly assumed to be Lake Minnetonka."

For those who don't know/remember, she was briefly married to Anthony Smith, the ex-Raiders player who last month was sentenced to three life terms for murder.

She was pretty damn hot in Action Jackson with Carl Weathers and the guy from "Coach."

She was smoking hot in the few pictures she made.
But she said Action Jackson was the height of her addiction- and that the shoot nearly killed her- so I don't think she would want it celebrated.
The Last Dragon- great campy fun. I am surprised it hasn't gotten more play over the years.
