I still crank up "Hold The Line" when it comes across the iPod. Love the guitar solo in that one. The rest of their stuff is shit. He did a lot of session stuff with guys like Boz Scaggs too.

Toto's four big chart hits are all good.
I probably like "99" best, then "Africa" or "Rosanna." And then "Hold the Line."

Gifted musicians, but on their own...

Africa is a horrible, horrible song. They don't pass the poker night test - if you put that song on you are laughed out of the room.

But as backing musicians, they were amazing.

    - This drips 1970s, but, shit, they just played the shit out of this song. And, yes, this is a great song.

"I Won't Hold You Back" was No. 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 track and No. 1 on the Adult Contemporary track in 1983.

Can you play it at poker night?

You can if you're smoking pot while it's playing.

Steve is the last of the Porcaro brothers still living. I understand he's knocking around Dallas and still gigging some.

"Silk Degrees" remains one of my all-time favorite albums, 39 years (wow, has it been that long!!!) after its release. The instrumental bridge in "Lido Shuffle" is tremendous and that song and "We're All Alone" are a great 1-2 punch to finish the LP. And Toto was great 70-80s pop music.
