Meet the press will never be the same. Russert was the reason I watched that show. When he reported something -- you believed it was true, always. Damn.

That's awful. Probably my favourite guy on US Television.

I loved "Big Russ & Me"

    Same age as me.

He really came across as a nice guy. Always ready to smile and could keep it light. Good newsman, though.

  5. It was rather dusty in here when Tom Brokaw spoke. RIP.

Brokaw has been tearing me up. I want to watch and I don't want to watch.

    Unreal.

My boss just came into my office and told me. I hate hearing stories like this about anyone.

I didn't watch "Meet the Press" that much and I wasn't fond of his kid-gloves treatment of Dick Cheney, but his MSNBC interview show on the weekends was often must viewing. He'd have great guests on and you'd always learn something from them because Russert would bring out that information.

This is a huge, huge loss for television journalism; Russert was one of the mainstays of NBC/MSNBC's deep bench and a large reason MSNBC was the leader in cable news -- at least in this province.

    RIP, Little Russ

I am now convinced it doesn't matter how much you do to stay in shape -- or how healthy you seem to be -- it makes no difference. It can hit any of us at any time. So everybody be careful, please, and take care.

    Life stinks.
