RIP "The Big Whistle" Bill Chadwick

    And another piece of my childhood is gone.

    Along with Phil Rizzuto, and a few others, Chadwick defined sports broadcasting for me as a kid.

    "Shoot the puck Barry, shoot the puck!"

    Loved listening to the guy. He was the first person I ever heard pronounce "forte" as a one-syllable word.

    Used to enjoy his commentary augmenting the spare play-by-play of the late Jim Gordon.

    Gordon was almost the Ray Scott of hockey: "Shot. Save. Rebound. Score, Esposito."
