RIP Superman screenwriter Tom Mankiewicz

    He was Richard Donner's right-hand man as they fought against the producers' demands to make the first Superman flicks into comedic cheese.

    Also had a hand in some Bond flicks.

    Read up on him on Wikipedia - the guy had a very interesting career, everything from James Bond movies, to Hart to Hart, to directing the Dragnet remake with Ackroyd and Hanks.
