He's no Pepper Brooks, but a solid announcer. RIP.

    Well, CRAP.

Great sportscaster, great guy. I grew up watching him, and the day he was phased out at Channel 5 was a dark day for LA sports.

    His movie stuff is legendary.

His early Rocky stuff, everyone knows, but he had the best line in Rocky V: "Hey Tommy, if you're looking for someone to fight, why don't you try the redhead in the front row? I hear she comes real cheap!!"

And the way he stayed on topic with Spicoli the stoner:

    "Where'd you get this jacket?!?!?!?"

"I got this from the network. Let me ask you a question: what's next for Jeff Spicoli?"

Tough year at Channel 5. Lose Silvertip (though no longer an employee) and Hal Fishman this year.

Stu Nahan: "Look at the size of that man."
    Color man: "Awesome ... awesome."

I knew him very well. He was one of the few TV guys who didn't mind buddy-ing up with the writers. He wasn't as arrogant as most TV guys.
He probably did buddy up to the players too much, but I guess that's part of the TV biz.
I thought he was a good guy and certainly an icon here.

A classic Stu Nahan flub that was aired on L.A. radio legend Jim Healy's show. I believe Nahan's is the third from the top (or you can just do a search for Nahan).

Healy always bashed Silvertip. Of course, Healy bashed everyone. I miss that guy.
