We should look at 2010. What's going in there to replace the Stardust is supposed to be really kick-ass.

    The North Strip rampage begins.....

How much longer till Circus Circus and the Sahara are history?

Also, don't fucking party near one of those implosions.

That cloud will cancer you up quicker than Whitlock changing his mind about NBA weekend.

Well......crap. Great old property, my absolutely favorite Sports Book. The 'dust was old school, all the way.

Simon, the North Strip rampage has been underway for a while. The Westward Ho is now a vacant lot, the Water Park is an overgrown mess, Sahara was sold about 2 weeks ago. CC, on the other hand, is sort of like a cockroach....not sure it'll ever die.....

FB, unless you make a WHOLE lot more money than me (and most folks), you won't be able to afford much of the kind of fun that Echelon will be offering.......

Glad someone put this up. Yes, RIP Stardust.

I'm hoping Sahara can survive the north-Strip carnage...Circus-Circus, not so much. That joint is just creepy.

Slots O' Fun. I've got a LOT of memories of lost, younger days evenings, at good old SOF. Then again...those may just be flashbacks...... SOF will be around as long as Circus Jerkus survives. Creepy is the most accurate word I could come up with, as well....

Sounds as if the plan is to leave the Sahara standing, but pretty pretty much gut it. Won't be a low rollers haven for too much longer.

Of course, it hasn't just been the far north Strip. The Boardwalk is gone, Barbary Coast was sold / traded / name changed(and the table limits doubled)....even the Imperial Palace has moved into into more upscale pricing (without any up grades in conditions). UUUGGGHHHH!

Went to Slots O'Fun last year with my brother and sister and when my brother hit a 200-quarter jackpot on a slot, he actually cashed out for 200 quarters. That's a novelty now.

North Strip hasn't been the same for me since Silver City closed, a fun little joint where I learned to play craps. I had heard they tried to go all-non-smoking a few years back, which sped up their demise...

Never had any luck at Slots O'Fun but man, I loved those ice cold beers.

Anyway, RIP to the Stardust, my fave sportsbook and the first place my brother was ever comped at. I still have a set of house keys on a Stadust key chain....

Football, we won't be able to afford to stay at Echelon in 2010. That place is aiming to top the Wynn as THE luxury hotel/casino.

RIP Stardust. I stayed there every time I went to Vegas. I've become quite the collector of Stardust-ilia in the past few months. Ashtrays, coffee mugs, one of the old floral shirts the dealers used to wear, a Stardust security guard's shirt and about $100 in various chip denominations are the start of my collection.

Inky, did you make the property auction, in November? We arrived a couple of days after it started, they were down to selling off furniture & restaurant equipment. Pretty surreal experience.

First couple times that I did the "guys" trip for the NCAA hoops tourney (LONG time ago...) we'd crash at the Westward Ho, bet the games all day at the 'dust, and play el cheapo black jack all night at Slot's O' Fun. Lather, rinse repeat....all weekend long. Low rollin', at it's finest.

No, I didn't make the auction. I tried to follow it online, but got caught up with work and couldn't. I've been getting stuff from resellers who did make the auction. Most of it has been overpriced, but there are still some really good finds if you search around.
