I know what Ted Williams would say:
"Well, boys, let's not lose our head over this shit."

That SportsJournalists.com doesn't have a Ted Williams sock puppet is a damn shame.

Especially now that Stan Musial is dead.

Williams is Jerry Rice; Musial is more Tim Brown.

You're comparing Ozzie Smith to Musial? Good Lord.

Had to choke back some tears when I read this one. I was never lucky enough to meet him, but most Cardinal fans feel as though they knew him in some small way. RIP to the best Redbird ever.

    This just in:

    Blues 6
    Red Wings 0

    Karma victory. :)

Would have been better, the way this thread started off, had the Blues beaten the Bruins 6-0.

I would say Bob Gibson is second among Cardinal legends, with Red and Dean being right behind. In the next tier are Ozzie and Brock and Country. If Pujols had played his entire career with the Cards — and I'm not arguing he should have — he would have been 1A to Musial's 1.

Stan is beloved for many things in St. Louis, not the least of which is playing his entire career with the Cardinals. Of course free agency wasn't around in his time, but regardless, when you think of St. Louis baseball, you think of Musial.
