RIP Russell Baker

    New York Times op-ed columnist for 36 years (a record). Won a Pulitzer for his autobiography "Growing Up." A superb writer. One of my personal idols of journalism. Died at age 93. If you get a chance, look up some of his columns. They are fantastic.

    Mr. McFadden, now 81, the Times' great obituarist, is himself an old-time titan.
