RIP, Roger. The Lions under the Ford family have truly done nothing to deserve so many outstanding players (or patient fans).

Brown finished his career on another pretty good line
Three years with Deacon Jones, Merlin Olsen and Lamar Lundy on the Rams

There's a funny story in the Karras book about Sam Williams. IIRC, the team was staying a week on the west coast between SF and LA games. Karras and someone else got Williams drunk and convinced him he was going to be traded. Willliams flew home to Detroit and when he woke up at home, he didn't know where he was or what had happened.

I cannot remember if the head coach was George Wilson or Joe Schmidt, but Williams received a serious ass chewing, had to pay his own fare back west and was fined.
