Don't know but I loved Box Socials by W.P. Kinsella. It was all about baseball in white trash Canada.

The writing was so repetitive and circular. Blew through it during the 4-day train ride across America.

Mr. A was the chief fiction editor there from the mid-60s to the early 2000s. He read, accepted, blue-penciled, encouraged, and signed off on every piece of fiction the magazine published in those years.

He mentored hundreds of writers across his decades at the New Yorker, many of whom never wrote for him, but landed elsewhere thanks to his graciousness and patience.

    Angell hated 'Field of Dreams.'

Not sure how he felt about 'Shoeless Joe.'

For 2/3 to 3/4 of the book, Kinsella's "Iowa Baseball Confederacy" is absolutely brilliant. Then it goes off the rails.
