    He survived pancreatic cancer and still died at 61 from something else. Geez, that sucks.

    RIP and condolences.

    This was a shock when I heard KNXs Randy Kerdoon talk about this on my way in yesterday morning.

    Rod used to come out to all of our golf events when he was at ESPN 710. He was a bright, funny, sardonic guy who was the Abbott to fellow radio sportscaster Ted Sobel's Costello.

    RIP to one of the good guys in LA Radio.
