The Human Bowling Ball... was one heckuva tough-guy player for Cowboys:

Good god, I didn't realize he was 64. The world is growing old around me. And this one stings.

    No. 44.

Was one of the first non-Rams players that stuck in my memory during childhood -- because of the 44 on his back. Just a big ol' strappin' wrecking ball. Newhouse and Dorsett and White ... those were the Cowboys I remember most as a kid whenever they played the Rams, or when the Pokes were on TV against other teams.

Threw a TD pass in the Super Bowl against the Broncos.

Still amazed at those 44-inch thighs.
Each bigger than my waist, and it's not even close.

Let's not get carried away here. I don't think his thighs were "each" 44 inches. That would be preposterous.

Ah. No wonder it seemed so astounding.

Yeah, I think Stump Mitchell, who was legendary for the girth of his legs, only had something like 34-inch thighs.

Always remember his large neck roll. RIP
  11. My first Midget League football jersey was #44.
When I got, I was bummed. I looked at the coach, disgusted.
"There are no good Steelers with the #44," I said.
He, a Cowboys fan, pointed out Robert Newhouse wore #44.
    I was not impressed.

    Yeah, that made me blink.

Earl Campbell had 34 inch thighs.
