I saw him, along with Richard Harris, in a performance of "Camelot" in Minneapolis years ago. Still one of the best live performances I've ever seen.

    RIP

Let's not act childish over this, Mr. Poopy Pants.

    You may be right.
EDIT: Hondo, you're right. ( Did I just say that?) :)

The show premiered in Toronto, went to Boston and then hit Broadway.

Here's a pretty good obit of the guy on CBC

    http://www.cbc.ca/arts/story/2007/10/30/goulet-death.html

Both Canada and the U.S. claim him as one of their biggest stars and he accepts both connections.

"Sometimes both countries want to claim me, but then, there have been periods when each one said to the other 'You take him, we don't want him,'" he joked in a 2005 interview.

Goulet was born on Nov. 26, 1933, in Lawrence, Mass. His father, Joseph, was from Quebec and his mother, Jeannette, was from Lewiston, Maine, although her family originally came from Quebec.

    Sirs, Madames,

My father met him in a bar at the Banff Springs -- remarkable because my father has never had a drink in his life, so he didn't take RG up on an offer of a free one.

Dilemma for pater ... a free drink ... no issue for the son.

    YHS, etc

    RIP

Pretty cool getting to see him sing at Opening Day this year singing "The Impossible Dream" as the '67 team walked out.

These commercials were genius. Thanks. I will never get tired of watching them. It wasn't that long ago, but man has ESPN lost its edge.

  11. Thought I'd highlight this one for Oz.

It was Julie Andrews as the original Guinevere in Camelot, BTW.
Goulet doing "C'est Moi" is a highlight off that soundtrack.

Will Ferrell did an awesome impersonaton of him on Conan, some of the funniest stuff I've ever seen. (and the SNL rap/Goulet commercial)
