Created and starred in The Prisoner, which would have been anybody's career highlight.

    Be seeing you, Number Six.

In advance of the forthcoming ITV/AMC remake of the series, AMC has posted all 17 episodes of the series here.

  4. And not to forget that a) he was in two of the best Columbo ep's, and b) that he was John Drake, who was...

Wasn't alive when it first ran, but absolutely loved The Prisoner when I was growing up.

Only guy to play four different murderers on Columbo, I believe.

"This far and no farther".....the IRA guy marking the bottle of whiskey.

(EDIT: I misremembered -- he didn't play the IRA guy.)

RIP to one of my favorites.

The Prisoner is a miraculous show. In many respects it doesn't date well at all, but it was so vastly ahead of its time and it treated the viewer not only as they weren't a simpleton, but an intelligent human being. So it resonates to the present day anyway.

I wish I had his voice. He had one of the most distinctive of all-time. Cerebral and tough all at once.

I'm just glad Rover didn't take him out.

  11. That nobody yet has mentioned him as Longshanks in Braveheart -- which probably saved that whole stupid mess for me -- is the biggest upset of the week.
