Which topic do you think he'd rather have people complaining about between now and the Super Bowl, concussions or extra points? PR 101: Change the conversation.

Extra points are related to concussions in this instance.

Didn't one of the national guys just write something about the PAT a few weeks ago with these same suggestions?

I thought this was thread about Transgenders. Carry on.

Either get rid of it, move it back, or narrow the goalposts. The PAT has become nothing but a time-wasting ritual. Some sort of major change to it is long overdue.

It was a Belichick suggestion during a press conference. And since Goodell does whatever Belichick wants, I expect this to happen.

I also expect Wes Welker to be beheaded at midfield during Super Bowl pregame.

time to take the foot out of football. no kicking. no punting. no field goals. you have 4 downs to get a first down, fail to get a first down, the opposing team takes over. 6 point TDs, option for 2 point conversion and 2 point safeties still available.

Why? It's a kick. It's a part of the game, like the intentional walk.

    Major change that's "long overdue?"

    But let's not stop there.

    * Get rid of the chains and just use cool lasers. Chains are just so outdated.
    * Let's go to progressive scoring on field goals. Two points for less than 34 yards; three for 35-54. Four for 55 and above.
    * Let coaches use iPads to call up instant video of the game. Who uses black-and-white still photos anymore? Strategy? Nah, just call it right up there and go right to the coach's clicker on the sideline during the game and compare it to what coaches watched during the week, and they can tweak the game plan right there since they mapped it out during the week.
    * Why six points for a touchdown? Seems so ... random. We need MORE scoring so let's go to 10 points for a touchdown.

Or how about this? Just leave well enough alone. Is the public not watching because there are extra points? Is there this big clamoring to make all these changes? Cripes, 82 percent of all TVs in use Sunday in Denver had the game on.

News flash: The game is doing just fine.

    Dude, it's not, though.

If you can eliminate unnecessary collisions, why not explore the idea?
