RIP Pat Harrington (Schneider)

Norman Lear laid down word that his sitcoms should have theme songs which were at least passably funky or soulful.

 

1 -- Harrington was a patient in the dental office where my wife used to work. All the staff felt he was delightful and it was fun when he came around. RIP.
2 -- Agree on all counts on Bertinelli.

The ability for CBS to get six plus seasons out of admittedly middling shows (NDI) is one of the great mysteries of our time. ODAAT was one of the proverbial hammock shows, in that it never had a timeslot that didn't end in 30.

ODAAT, Welcome Back Kotter, All in the Family, and Good Times

 

It's hard to beat Reflections by the Supremes (China Beach)

 

Kotter, and it's not that close. Although Good Times was pretty damn good too.
