RIP newsman Michael Kaufman

Discussion in 'Journalism topics only' started by WaylonJennings, Jan 16, 2010.

  1. He'd been retired for a few years apparently, but the guy sounds like he was a treasure when working as an international reporter for the NY Times, the kind of character that only newspapers can produce. Figured on a message board for journalists, his death shouldn't go unrecognized:

Amen, Waylon. He sounds like a great shining example of what journalism used to be.

Pancreatic cancer, apparently, is one of the most aggressive/opportunistic of all cancers. Hopefully Mr. Kaufman went pain-free and peacefully. RIP.

And kudos to the Times writer who wrote the obit. That was a great read.
