RIP McNair (Let's try to keep this civil.)

  1. I agree ... the thing is, they really opened themselves up to QB questions with the warren moon selection

Moon: 102-101 career record, mediocre in the playoffs (3-7, never made it to afc title game), modest passer rating (80.9, No. 42 all-time) ... and his CFL stats don't matter since the guy was a .500 QB in the NFL

McNair: 91-61, 5-5 in the playoffs, reached two conference title games and higher passer rating at 82.8 (No. 28 all-time)

Your comments are noticeably absent from the thread of the white Republican governor who cheated on his wife. But not surprisingly absent.

If McNair and the Titans had scored against St. Louis.
And, if the Ravens had not lost to Indy 15-6, and instead advanced to the 2006 AFC title game and to the Super Bowl, and won the Bowl, maybe he'd be considered for Canton.
His "body of work" is simply not good enough.
He's one of the really good QBs who played a 13-year career in a tough vocation to stick around as a starter.
But he's not a Hall of Famer.

How is Moon's record as an NFL quarterback a determining factor in whether or not his CFL stats matter?

Also, Moon played a very different role for the Oilers, with so many seasons in the run-and-shoot, than McNair did in more conservative offenses. It is kind of unfair to compare the two using only their records and career passer ratings. Moon threw for 49,325 yards in his career, compared to only 31,304 for McNair. Moon also had 291 touchdowns. McNair had 174. Moon threw for over 4,000 yards in a season four times, something McNair never did. McNair did throw fewer interceptions, 119, than Moon's 233.

Somebody complained about the gleefull responses by some when the Republican governor of South Carolina's infidelity was discovered. You want to know where that comes from? Judgemental garbage like your posts on this thread, Scribe.

The MySpace thing on the SBB link is pretty wild.

Kazemi's ex has a friend whose page said "rip sahel kazemi" and his last login was July 2.

Why do his CFL stats not matter?

It's the "Pro Football" Hall of Fame. Not the "NFL" Hall of Fame. The CFL stats factor in.

It's the same reason Manu Ginobili is probably a lock for the "Pro Basketball" Hall of Fame, even though his NBA statistics aren't exactly overwhelming.

His Euroleague and Olympic exploits count.

In those pics she looks like one of those chicks seen in a Beuruit night club in the 80's or Udi Hussein's girlfriend.

I think (I'm not certain of this though) that you can change your status without logging in. Also that's only a screencap. Someone could have photoshopped it to say that.

Right you are. I recall many people making a big deal of Moon's CFL numbers and that it's not the NFL Hall of Fame when he was elected.

  11. if CFL stats really mattered, start a campaign to put Gizmo Williams in and see what happens

    CFL stats factor in.
    So do USFL stats.

They are seldom the deciding factor -- though I wouldn't be surprised to see Marcus Allen's brother get in -- but they can be frosting on the cake for a lot of voters.
