    One of the very few politicians I genuinely admired. One of the great orators of his time. I think he could have been a good president. Played pro baseball as a center fielder in the Pirates's system for a year, too.

    Thanks for posting that. It still resonates today. All of the idiots who idolize Reagan should listen to that speech because they're now living with the results of the 30-plus years of middle-class stagnation that Reagan ushered in.

    Oof.

    Cuomo is best known for this speech and his speech at Notre Dame.

    He was governor of New York State for 12 years.

    His results don't compare to Reagan's. And, America rejected the message of the speech as it went on to re-elect Reagan in an historic landslide.
