With all due respect, what the hell does any of that have to do with his situation?

I'm pretty sure I wrote the first national story about Manute when he first came to the University of Bridgeport, so I followed him for a long time and always got a kick out of him. He's led, in turns, an odd and wonderful and terrible life. Very interesting person whom I wish well.

It's easy, I'm saying, for players today to not be classy.
All that many of them think about is "where's my money."
Bol wasn't like that, when he was playing 20 years ago.

In case anyone missed it, here's a column the KC Star's Sam Mellinger wrote about the long-time suburban KC resident...

Big man, bigger heart. RIP Manute.

I'm just glad his suffering is over. The skin disease he had was about the worst thing I've ever heard of. RIP to a good man.

I knew Manute pretty well but had only seen him a few times in the last few years. The last time I saw him was in September, before all this, and he did not look well.

The guy had a huge heart and was willing to do pretty much anything for charity. This news just makes me so sad.

A man who seemed to have good perspective on life despite being largely considered a curiosity. R.I.P.

Right on the money, Dools. Awesome demeanor for a guy who lived through a lot.

RIP to a guy who put a lot smiles on faces.
