    Always was a good target of the media, but he did a good job in Boston and a couple other stops. He'd have Theo Epstein status if not for Schiraldi, Buckner, et al.

    A true baseball lifer.

    Lou was a really good fellow and enjoyable company. I am very sorry to hear of his passing, but he had not been in robust health for some time.
