The MASH episode was the one where he was the officer and they staged all these stunts to make him believe that he was going off his nut, right? A classic.

I have more fun watching him play it straight in old serious roles, knowing what a cut-up he would become. It's like his co-stars in those old shows weren't in on the joke the way Nielsen and we in the audience were. When he's a mean bastard in the villain's role, it is hilarious to me now given the context of his later work.

Kind of 180 degrees from how one feels now watching O.J. in an old movie or show.

He was on a local radio station here in Ottawa and kept farting through out the interview, it was quite hilarious.
