After Steven Hill's turn, Dianne Wiest did seem very weak as the DA. FDT brought a certain new swagger to the position and you could tell Waterston's character felt a little intimidated and sometimes didn't know what to do with Branch.

The Branch character was good for the legal tension is produced and I think the writers did a decent job of articulating his legal philosophy. Though for liberals, both Stone and McCoy could be rat bastard hard-ass throw the book at 'em when they wanted to.

I really wish they had the chance to send the show off with a reflaring of the Mesucci crime family drama. Some of those early eps got me hooked on the show the way a simple mugging or hold-up would end up bringing down a Senator or half the police brass.

    Mr 4428

In the Bizarro world, Profaci's spin-off is most successful Wolf franchise.

Profacci ending up a dirty cop on the Logan movie was almost as much a MacGuffin as the Serena lesbian revelation

This is pretty good, especially the line about Dianne Wiest.

How much of a punch in the gut must it be to have L&O bounced, but NBC picks up the Los Angeles version that has no cast, no pilot and was previewed at NBC's upfront with video of generic LA crime scenes and a mock up of the Hollywood sign?
They really should move Jon Munch out to LA. I'd settle for Eames from Criminal Intent. Or anyone from the cast of Oz.

What is the fascination with LA? Obviously, it's easy for the lazy, because the shows are being shot there anyway.
But otherwise, why? NCIS LA makes no sense whatsoever. If there were such a unit, it would be down around San Diego, where the freaking Navy is, right? Why on earth would there be an NCIS Los Angeles?

Is “Law & Order” really dead?

Not if its creator, Dick Wolf, can help it. Mr. Wolf said after Monday’s NBC upfront presentation that he was out seeking “other offers” for his 20-year-old, New York-based franchise, which NBC canceled this week.
