All I'll say, as a Vol fan, is:

    Hob-nail boot.

  2. I'll bet Lewis Grizzard met Larry at the door.

    R.I.P.

I agree, that even as not that big a fan of Georgia, I enjoyed his calls and he will really be missed. Broadcasters of his caliber are becoming a rarer and rarer breed.

His "Run Lindsay!" call is one of my all-time favorites. people forget he was the Voice of Vandy for several years before the Hairy Dawgs came callin.

hunker down, larry, youre already sorely missed.

This fanboi looser's heart is heavy today, but it makes me smile to think of Lewis and Larry, sitting together, talking about fishing, toasting an SEC East title -- and fretting about how there's no way we can beat Tech, let alone LSU.

Mike Luckovich. Shades of Lewis and Catfish, which is one of the best cartoons I've ever seen.

There was a nice obit for Munson on NPR this morning. Since I didn't read the one posted here before, I had no idea he had played piano in Tommy Dorsey's band. Quite a life.
