Kind of strange...I just watched an episode of "Big Love" last night where a character who the billboard business kept on trashing her. Even had a picture of her by his garbage can.

    RIP

Someone on here was widely panned for having her in his deadpool.

R.I.P. to a remarkably underrated woman who did far more than she ever got credit for by her domineering husband.

Read Robert Caro's excellent "Means of Ascent" for background on how Lady Bird kept LBJ's machine going on numerous instances when it was perilously close to breaking down.

    Neither did I. Wow.

I figured she died 20 years ago.

    RIP

All of Caro's LBJ biographies are excellent. Lady Bird sure put up with a lot.

It's widely believed she was an excellent off the record source for those books even though Caro gave her ample cover.

    When you drive

    to see the sights

    be thankful that

    she stayed up nights

    thinking how

    to save the scenery

    from billboards leading

    to the local beanery.

Patient as Job. Most underated FL of recent times. Never got out of the shadow of Jackie's grace and pain. Thanks, Lady Bird

Makes me wonder what, if any, other First Lady's initials were the same as her husband's.

EDIT: I know her given name was not Lady Bird. But I also don't recall anyone popularly calling her Claudia Alta
