    Arguably the most influential mayor in Boston history.

    If you ever get the chance, take some time and watch the documentary of when James Brown played in the Boston Garden the day after MLK was shot in April 1968. It's called "The Night James Brown Saved Boston." White gives an impassioned speech before the conert to try to keep peace in the city, and with this concert played multiple times on WGBH, that happens.


    Also played a role in the busing controversy in the mid 70s as well.
