According to the reporter, he wrote the rough draft of the story and was trying to confirm it by contacting two sources, when the web administrator hit the button to publish the story.

Kenny Stabler, a horrible mistake and my career

So, as of right now, Johnny Unitas is the only deceased QB to start for a Super Bowl-winning team.

Even more ex-citing, his stat line for the next SB win:

6-of-7 for 73 yards. No TDs, no INTs.

Dolphins ran the ball 53 times for 196 yards.

Garo Yepremian could have played QB in that game.

I guess all those nights studying the playbook by the jukebox light caught up to him.

    RIP

So does Tuscaloosa now get credit for breaking the story?

He's enjoying the autumn wind of the Great Beyond.

On another note, he always looked kind of strange in the Saints uniforms.

Shula coached the Colts in SBIII, Weeb Ewbank coached the Jets.

The end of the Oilers in Houston started when Bud Adams traded Pastorini for Stabler and fired Bum Phillips. I don't blame Stabler, but it's a big reason why I follow the Cowboys instead. I was an Oilers fan as a kid.

Fumblerooski. That's how I will always remember him.
