I now have "Don't you ... forget about me" stuck in my head. Maybe they'll play that at the funeral.

I think it's safe to throw Sixteen Candles in this comedy list. Not sure any film ever merged the teen angst and goofball comedy genres quite as well as that one did.

No, but it might never have been made without him. It was following a genre that Hughes essentially created.

Grandma Helen: Oh Sam, let me take a look at you. Fred, she's gotten her boobies.
Grandpa Fred: I better get my magnifying glass. Ha Ha Ha.
Grandma Helen: Oh, and they are so PERKY.

Obviously not a Hughes project, but Fast Times must be included here.

    Uh... no.

It's a Cameron Crowe movie. He wrote "Fast Times at Ridgemont High," which nailed high school far better than anything Hughes did, before Hughes came along.

Between this and the market listing of Cameron Frye's house this summer, I guess I'd better acknowledge the passage of time.

"He'll get up. She'll get up. There'll be anarchy!"

"One, you can never go too far. Two, if I am gonna get busted, it's not gonna be by a guy like that."

"By the end of the night, she and I... will interface."
