RIP Joe Walker, blind Atlanta sports announcer

    If that happened, I'm sure it was embarrassing for all parties. To the stupid and sighted, I guess it was funny.
    Imagine if you were blind and in a similar situation.

    Seems to me he did the minor leagues broadcasting? I know the one Macon Braves game I covered, there was a blind sportscaster in the booth. Didn't get his name, but seems to me there can't be that many.

    Yep, it probably was "Sky" Walker.

    He was not on the Braves' network team, and I don't think he did pbp. There are multiple radio outlets that air the live broadcast, but it's the Jim Powell/Don Sutton stuff their listeners get.

    He had a nephew that helped him get around the stadium, and I believe he helped Walker with the broadcast stuff too.
