And then changed their mind when they read another report from the New York Times. I guess its asking too much for them to *snicker* make a call or two themselves.

The bad news is that Onward State lost all credibility with how they handled this. The good news is they just landed on Auburn's football schedule.

now cbs is placing ALL of the blame on Onward State.

You just know Rinaldi or Schap is sitting in the hospital, with their finger hovering over the "tweet" button.

I have to believe this is the result of CBS putting its low-totem-pole people on late duty on a Saturday night when not much was expected to happen.

You'd have to pay extra money that grandmas don't want to spend in order to see the ticker? :D

Jacobi now in full damage control.

Penn State student website Onward State has reported that Penn State players were notified of longtime head coach Joe Paterno's passing via email, and CBSSports.com went on this report. Paterno, 85, had been receiving chemotherapy as part of his treatment for lung cancer.

Hey, I was sticking up for TWL. If ESPN had this gaffe like CBS, there'd be a virtual lunch mob formed by now on the Intrawebs. The same should be done for CBS.
