    Loved his stories and his voice. The perfect person to do a 3-minute piece on someone like Huber would be...Jim Huber.

    It's easily forgotten that back in the 80s, CNN's Sports Tonight was a direct competitor of SportsCenter and probably not far off in viewership. I preferred SportsCenter back then, but respected CNN's show.

    Huber was class. RIP.

    Sports Tonight in the 1980s killed SportsCenter. Killed it. It was a no-brainer what to watch at 8:30 p.m. PST. It's why ESPN started poaching big time from Atlanta.

    I think CNN fucked up big time when they moved huckster Van Earl Wright from Headline News to the regular broadcasts.

    I knew Jim for 20-25 years and all the good words mentioned previously are true. What a nice guy he was.

    Definitely. Their appeal was they were the anti-ESPN and didn't do all the stupid gimmicks. Then they moved in VEW and tried to beat ESPN at its own game. Incredibly stupid strategy.
