    Hadn't seen this posted anywhere. Was one heck of a mensch, according to Twitter comments.

    Sadly, those from here who knew him best were Frank Ridgeway and Spnited.

    J.P. and I worked together for about 10 years. He introduced himself to me (I was in news) when I wrote a freelance story for our Health section about something that hit close to him, and we were friendly ever since. He had the chance to meet my family and he always asked about them by name.

    Anyone here ever cover a game with him and get Pelzman’ed in the restroom at halftime? I’m not going to elaborate but I figured I’d leave it here in case anyone who knows wants a chuckle.
