    Snyder was a treat to watch as a kid. You never knew who was coming on or what direction the discussion would take. Wow. What a concept.

    Sirs, Madames,

    I guess Michelangelo Antonioni's death along with Bergman's makes it the international cinema's equivalent of the July 4,1826.

    I have L'Avventura on DVD -- I've watched it through a couple of times and with the commentary later. I can see what critics loved and audiences hated. Takes the Seinfeld "nothing happens" and self-absorption to a Godot-like extreme with Italian high society.

    The Passenger with Nicholson (aka Professione: Reporter) much more fun to watch. I think I'll watch Blow-Up when I get a chance.

    Gets an Oscar one year and it's stolen the next.
