Ike Kuhns, longtime Star-Ledger reporter and soccer specialist, passed away last week. An obit appeared in The Star-Ledger, posted on nj.com

No doubt the most versatile sports reporter I've ever worked with. RIP, Ike.

Ike Kuhns, a really easy person to get along with and a true professional. He really knew his business and cared deeply about all sports and respected the people involved and they respected him. I don't think there was a mean bone in his body. Enjoyed working with Ike for many years when he was on the Jets beat. He could pick up what was going on even if he hadn't been on the beat in several years. We'll probably never see his kind again. Frank Ramos.

I know I'm late with this but I haven't been around. I just want to say I covered many events with Ike and he was a knowledgeable sports fanatic and as nice a person as it was my privelege to be around. If you ever worked with him, I feel confident you'll agree. I don't believe I ever heard anybody say a mean word about Ike,
    Dan Castellano
