Oh man, I should not have laughed at that. But that was really solid.

Very solid stuff there, JJ. But man that song sucks. The epitome of 70s MOR, easy listening schlock.

Wow. "I'd Really Love To See You Tonight" and "Nights Are Forever Without You" have been parts of the soundtrack of my life for years. "Meet Me In Montana" was a more recent addition.

    RIP.

Sad to Belong to Someone Else was up there with Torn Between Two Lovers as stalwarts of the 1970s love triangle genre.

There was also the Oak Ridge Boys' less-than-remorseful take on the matter, "Trying to Love Two Women," which topped the country chart in 1980 thanks in large part to this enlightened first verse:

"Trying to love two women, is like a ball and chain
Trying to love two women, is like a ball and chain
Sometimes the pleasure ain't worth the strain
It's a long old grind, and it tires your mind."

    :D

Dan Fogleberg, Dan Seals - we're running out of soft-rockers from the 1970s with beards. Hope Bertie Higgins is still kickin' it.

Dan Hill is still out there from the Canuckistani division.
