    Always remember him as one of the guys who wore a helmet when he played in the field.

    What's sad is that the obit written in the Delta Democrat Times has Scott listed as 71. He was 69. I believe this was the first story written by the reporter. Wow.

    In the minors, someone was hurling objects at him. He took to wearing it for protection.

    I'm thinking it was around 74 or 75 (OK, just looked it up and it was 1973), I got tickets for my birthday to a Sunday doubleheader against the Yankees. Scott hit a grand slam to almost the top row of the bleachers at County Stadium off Sam McDowell, leading a Brewers sweep.

    I think Boomer was the one who came up with the word "tater" to describe a home run. I think.

    Always loved the story about his necklace being second basemen's teeth.

    Yes. In fact, his autobiography was entitled "Long Taters."
