FWIW, Jeppesen Stadium, renamed Robertson Stadium, is where UH plays football.

That Blanda streak was really remarkable.

The sadness of the Raiders is prevalent today.

RIP to a HOF player I thought would never stop playing. Brent Favre is no George Blanda.

I believe Jeppesen has been remodeled and renamed Robertson Stadium. It's where the Houston Cougars play.

RIP to an AFL legend and a real American original. Ol' George could sling it and kick it.

I doubt it -- his tenure with the Bears was pretty unremarkable.

It was his 1960s run with the Oilers which really memorable. I suppose the Texans might do something at some point -- not sure if the Titans are making a habit of honoring old-time Oilers.

He had a run of a couple seasons with the Raiders when he pulled out some great wins as a backup QB. He was the last active NFL player from the WWII generation. He was roughly my dad's age (2 years younger), so he always enjoyed watching him play.

Does Houston play at that stadium now!?!?

Yes. It's on their campus. They've played there for about 10 years now.

In the 80s & 90s when they played at the Dome Robertson was their track stadium. They hosted the US Track & Field Championships there at least once.

You're old enough to remember when George Blanda was playing?

RIP to one of just two in the NFL (Jeff Feagles is technically the other by playing the final game of the 2009 season in 2010) to play in four separate decades.
