I always thought that was an Alan Parsons Project song.

    Different "Games People Play".

Anyhoo, R.I.P. to one of those Nashville songwriters who assured themselves a decent paycheck for life with a few hits, then largely faded from acclaim outside the songwriting community, like Johnny Cymbal. South also did the Lynn Anderson song Rose Garden. And Hush was done by a pre-metal Deep Purple.

That song kicks ass. One of the first songs I remember being on the radio.

Unless you are just incredibly driven to achieve fame or a lottery-sized paycheck, I think being a successful songwriter would be very fulfilling. You get to express yourself and spend your time around other creative people. At the same time you don't spend your best years on a tour bus and can buy groceries in peace.

    Fucking A.

That's why I wrote Convoy. Residuals meet wallet.
