    Found a ton From 1973. Mean Joe, Bradshaw, Staubach, Manning, Plunket, Butkus, Bobby Douglas, Bob Lilly, Snell and Upshaw. Roman Gabriel. Page, Eller and Marshall.

    Yep. One of those few films we were allowed to stay up past our bedtime to watch all of (pre-VCR). Was this before or after "The Godfather" for Caan? I think we also watched the game Sayers got hurt in. The Bears were still playing at Wrigley Field.

    RIP to a great player and even greater person.

    Sayers was one of a kind. A singularity. The most beautiful runner in league history.

    Which is not the same as the best runner or the toughest runner or the most effective runner.

    Alone, by the aesthetic standards of the game, he was the most beautiful.

    More remarkably, it was on a muddy turf field. Not FieldTurf. Not AstroTurf. Grass choked in mud.

    RIP to one of the class acts whose career was snuffed out far too soon. Thank You.
