RIP, Eydie Gorme

    People younger than 50 may not remember her, but she and husband Steve Lawrence were all over the place in the 60s and 70s, recording a ton of albums and appearing on numerous TV shows.

    When I was in college, I went to a performance of "Guys and Dolls." The couple behind me was laughing harder than they should have been and at intermission I turned around and it was Steve and Eydie, whose son, Michael, was playing Nathan Detroit.

    I think I know of her because of SNL and the brilliant Hartman as Sinatra skits in the late 1980s.

    I saw Steve and Eydie open for Frank on one of his last tours. They were pretty entertaining.
